Hey! I’m Susan.

My career began as an assistant web designer, where I first discovered the impact of creating intentional digital experiences. From there, I expanded into roles in student advising, event planning, and marketing. Each role helped me better understand how people interact with systems, how learning and communication connect, and how thoughtful design improves outcomes.

Over time, I developed a strong foundation in designing structured, user-centered experiences that support both organizational goals and learner needs. This naturally evolved into my passion for instructional design, where clarity, strategy, and empathy come together to create meaningful learning experiences.

My focus is always on creating learning experiences that are clear, purposeful, and impactful while balancing usability, engagement, and measurable outcomes.✨

When I’m not designing, you can catch me hanging out with my dogs, exploring the Pacific Northwest and learning how to ski as an adult (accepting any and all tips!).

Hey! I’m Susan — a designer shaped by over 9 years in higher education.

My career started as a WordPress web manager, where I first discovered the magic of building digital experiences. From there, I explored various roles—student advisor, event planner, marketer—each one giving me a deeper understanding of how systems connect, how people interact, and how thoughtful design can make all the difference.

Design, to me, is the intersection of everything I’ve learned and everything I’m passionate about. It’s the bridge between user needs and institutional goals, the balance of creativity and strategy, and the opportunity to design experiences that are both intuitive and impactful.

I bring empathy from advising, creativity from event planning, and structure from marketing into every experience I design. Whether I’m mapping user journeys, designing interfaces, or collaborating across departments, I’m driven by one goal: to create solutions that are as functional as they are delightful.
